Dan Rivers' Story

In 1978 I was living a few miles outside of Portland, Oregon and had developed a colon cancer and the cancer had caused me to bleed internally so bad that I lost over half of my blood and was given a blood transfusion. Back then blood donors were not screened too well.

Then in 1995 after I had moved to New Mexico to get away from the cold wet winters of Oregon and had been then living in New Mexico for four years I begin to have lots of different illnesses. And was diagnosis to have Hepatitis C At that time none of the doctors I had mentioned anything about any treatments other than usingmilk thistle and changing my diet.

I started using two pounds of milk thistle a month, cut out all sugar, fat, red meat, starches, dairy products and started eating lots of fish, grains, fruits, vegetables and getting lots of exercise.
My hepatitis went in to remission and I felt better than I had in years.

Then several months ago a so-called-friend whom I had saved his life after he got cancer and got him help, he let me down by taking back the machine that ground my milk thistle seeds, cut off my supply of them, plus my supplies of other essential herbs and organic foods I had been using to
arrest my hepatitis and since I have no transportation and live in a real small town I could not get any of those things locally. Within a month my hepatitis had returned far worse than it had ever been before. When he saw that I was in acute stages of the disease he brought back the grinder and two pounds of milk thistle, but I had gone to see a liver specialist who said because of my age (I am nearly 72) I was passed the age of being treated. That after 65 no one can be treated because the treatments will kill them.

And although I have been back on the milk thistle for a month now my condition has worsened, I am tired all of the time, am constipated, my skin itches terribly, I feel dizzy, sickish, my heart beats too fast, I have breathing problems, my liver hurts, I have leg cramps, my sight is blurred, I get confused, I have short memory, I am fatigued, have headaches, gas, bloating, insomnia, irritability, indigestion, feverish, dry skin, arthritis, nausea, vertigo, weakness and rarely get thirstylike I used to. My doctor said stopping my diet caused my system to go in to shock and said he did not believe I would recover this time even though I am back on my diet again. And since I am on a low fixed income I can not any other kind of treatments.

But if anyone is younger than me, I would recommend they try my diet while they still have hope.

Dan Rivers
