Hi my name is
Gloria Laughlin. I live in the little town of Fordland MO.
I was raised in Kansas City MO. At the age of 15 I left home
to find a better life. Life at home meant abuse. (sexual, mental,
physical, emotional)
I ran away to
Denver where I met and married my first husband Wayne. I was
married to him for 12 1/2 years. The only good thing that
came out of that abusive relationship was my son Joshua.
In 1985 I joined the Army and finished basic training. I cracked
both hips and was given an honorable discharge. We moved to
Springfield MO and I recovered from my injury. I met Ted in
Nov of 86 and we became friends. He was married and had a
son Stephen who was 2. In 1989 Ted's wife left him for another
man and Ted almost died from a broken heart. I was there for
him and we became closer. I finally left Wayne in May of 90
after he tried to kill me over something that had happened
in1980. I decided that I didn't have to be his punching bag
any more.
Ted and I started hanging out more and in June of 1992 we
got married.
I have found my saving angel. My life has never been so good.
In 1995 I was given the news that I had Hepc. I was put on
the interferon treatment. 3 shots a week for 6 months. I was
in remission and stayed in remission for 7 years. In June
of 2002 I started having pain and finally went to the VA (a
bonus of cracking my hips a life time of free medical care).
A Viral load was done and I was >600000 geno type 1a.
I got scared and
started doing research on Hepc. I found alot of stuff and
I found the heppo web site. This was the best thing I found.
I turned 40 on Christmas Day and started treatment on Jan
9 2003. By the time I turn 41 I will be cured and my great
life will become even better then it is now. I am now a grandma
who will be able to watch and enjoy my grandchildren and maybe
great grandchildren. This is not the end of my story only
the beginning.
Hugs and Prayers
to all. Email me!
