Kathryn's Story

I contracted geno type 1 when I was 15, now I'm 47.My life was like a roller coaster ride, untill at 44 my counts went up over 1000, then dropped to 400 and stayed there. I am a single parent, and I was dying.I took rebatron for 11 months, and 2years later I am still virus free.
I have changed!! I feel so good, not tired, not confused, less forgetful, and most importantly, I am not mildly depressed all the time.I really didn't know I was depressed until recently when I realised I was'nt.I was'nt depressed about being sick all those years because I didn't find out I was sick until acouple of months before I started the treatment (but thats another story)

After the first month of treatment I actually felt better than I had before I started, at least for a few months.I worked 6 days a week.By the end of the treatment I was just holding on, desparate for it to be over. I'd say it has taken me these two years to recover from the meds, but more so from years of having a malfunctioning body.Last test my alt was 15, that was last month. My chances of the virus returning are slight- even if it does I will always be grateful for having this time as a normal human.
